Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 12 : The National People’s Party (NPP) today , Jan 12, 2023 , announced the names of candidates in 58 out of 60 constituencies for the upcoming Assembly elections during National People’s Party ‘General Election Meeting’ at SRGT Grounds, here .
NPP President WR Kharlukhi read out the names of the 58 candidates which the party proposes to field .
The prominent candidates are Chief Minister , Conrad Sangma from the South Tura seat, NPP VP Prestone Tynsong from Pynursla, NPP Gen Secy Sniawbhalang Dhar from Nartiang, NPP Treasurer, James Sangma from Dadenggre.
During the General Election Meeting ,the party also laid down the mission for 2023 and presented before the people, the People’s Report of the initiatives from 2018-2023 leading to the the MDA Government.
CM Conrad Sangma said, ” When we took over the Govt. Meghalaya used to be at the bottom of the different rankings in the country but we did not fret and we took it as a challenge. Today, our rankings have improved drastically. We have a long way to go but we are on the right track!”
Over 10,000 people and party supporters attended the meeting, today .
