Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 1 : Former speaker of Meghalaya Assembly, Martin M Danggo, on Wednesday joined the BJP ahead of the assembly elections scheduled on February 27.
Martin joined the BJP with his supporters are the State Party Office of the BJP at Bivar Road, here .
Danggo, a five-term MLA, was welcomed by cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai at the BJP’s office in the presence of senior party functionaries. Shullai congratulated Danggo on joining the BJP and said that they would work together for the upliftment of the poor and more development of the state.
Danggo is the latest in a series of ex-legislators who have joined the BJP. Each of these legislators have experienced the result oriented and development driven governance of the BJP at the centre and in various states. Each of these legislators have expressed their faith in the leadership of PM Modi.
Danggo too said that he trusted only the BJP to bring real change in Meghalaya.
