Shillong ( Meghalaya ) , May 18 : The state today recorded the highest single -day spike of 906 new cases of Covid -19 while 19 more deaths were recorded .
Among the new cases , 574 were reported from East Khasi Hills , 64 from East Jaintia Hiils , 9 from East Garo Hiils , 19 from North Garo Hills , 20 from South Garo Hills, 41 from South West Garo Hills , 10 from South West Khasi Hills , 56 from West Garo Hills , 54 from West Jaintia Hills and 31 from West Khasi Hills .

Out of the 19 deaths, 17 cases were recorded in East Khasi Hills and 1 each from North Garo Hills and Ri – Bhoi districts .
A total of 470 patients were discharged today after full recovery on Tuesday .
