Nartiang (Meghalaya), Dec 9: The Nartiang Presbyterian Higher Secondary School (NPHSS) marked a significant milestone in its history with a grand ceremony to celebrate its Golden Jubilee. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar were among the dignitaries who attended the event.
The Chief Minister congratulated the school on completing 50 years of its journey, highlighting the government’s commitment to education. He emphasized that education is not just about books or degrees but about building character, discipline, and a sense of purpose.
The Chief Minister also announced plans to introduce a structured salary system for ad hoc and SSA teachers, providing them with job security and benefits. Additionally, he pledged ₹20 lakh from his Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund for the extension of the school building.
The deputy Chief minister praised the school’s community, teachers, and managing committee for their hard work and dedication. The celebrations featured cultural performances, including a Fusion Dance by the students, and the release of the Golden Jubilee Souvenir.
