Shillong ( Meghalaya ), June 3 : 2 unclaimed bodies of Covid -19 patients are lying in Civil Hospital here which are yet to be disposed of as their relatives are yet to claim the dead bodies .
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong has informed 2 bodies of Covid -19 patients are still lying in the morgue . While the first is that a male patient named Deka Bora, aged 35 years, from Umshyrpi, Shillong was admitted in the COVID-19 Unit 1 at Civil Hospital May 5 and he succumbed on May 31 .
He also informed that another male patient named Ribarson Kharbihkhiew, aged 27 years, from Nongmynsong, was admitted in the COVID-19 Unit 2 at Civil Hospital on May 25 and he expired June 1.
Usually the are patients brought to Civil hospital by Police or 108 ambulances (emergency ambulance service) in an unconscious state or relatives who disappear after admitting .
The people are found at bus stand, road side with limited or no information.
The Joint Director also requested the concerned relatives, to collect the dead bodies from the Hospital Morque immediately, failing which the dead bodies will be send for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board
