Shillong ( Meghalaya), Apr 30 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’ completed its 100th episode today. Special screening of the programme was organised at the Raj Bhavan, here wherein eminent personalities from various fields of the State witnessed the special screening.
Media Units in Shillong under the Ministry of Information of Broadcasting in collaboration with the Raj Bhavan organised the special screening of the popular radio programme.
Governor of Meghalaya , Phagu Chauhan attended the special screening as the Chief Guest.
Chauhan in his address exclaimed that the Mann Ki Baat has deepened the connect between our Prime Minister and the citizens, also inspiring them to become agents of change in the development of our great Nation.
Chauhan said that Mann Ki Baat has emerged as a transformative force in highlighting the collective strengths of the people of India; as he added, “Through the programme, diverse topics have been covered, be it in furthering sustainable development, highlighting efforts of women empowerments, ways to strengthen the Aatmanirbhar Bharat movement on the ground, furthering a culture of sports, salient aspects of Indian culture and more”.
The Governor expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for referring to the specialties of the North East in his popular programme- Mann Ki Baat. “The Northeastern region, especially Meghalaya, seems to have found a place of pride in the Mann Ki Baat programme. The Prime Minister had mentioned the Northeast and Meghalaya on several occasions since the inception”.
Governor , Chauhan also said that Mann Ki Baat has been at the forefront of showcasing inspiring works in remote areas of the nation including tribal areas as well as aspirational districts. The Governor expressed his delight to have witnessed the special screening of the 100th Episode of Mann Ki Baat with the important personalities whose work and life also matches the spirit of this programme -which is ground level work to help others.
The Governor also inaugurated an photo- exhibition on Change-makers and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised at the Raj Bhavan premises by the Central Bureau of Communication, Shillong.
