Thunderstorm forecast for North Eastern Region

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh  ), April 14 : Thunderstorm accompanied with squall likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur Mizoram-Tripura and Odisha. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, north coastal Andhra Pradesh Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Squally weather with wind speed occasionally reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to prevail over Maldives — Lakshadweep area.

Arunachal's Nirbhaya : Raped, tortured and murdered , what next ?

Namsai (Arunachal Pradesh )  : A 13- year old girl  from Empong Village in Namsai district was allegedly raped , tortured  and brutally murdered  in run up to the Christmas day celebrations  . She was a  8 th  standard    at  a  convent school here  in  Arunachal Pradesh .
 Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has expressed his deep anguish and at  the recent murder of the young girl and termed it as 'shameful' and' worrying'.

Arunachal Pradesh : Hardcore NSCN (K) cadre killed

Kohima (Nagaland ): In a major operation launched by the Khonsa battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of DAO Division, a hardcore NSCN (K) cadre was killed near Tissa village, Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh last evening.
A release issued by PRO Defence Col C Konwer today informed that since beginning of November reports of NSCN (K) and ULFA carrying out extortion activities in the region had been received and a proactive strategy was adopted by the security forces to deter the underground groups.

Itanagar(Arunachal Pradesh ):In a major boost to rail connectivity in the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh, the Government of India has released an amount of Rs. 47.18 Crore to the Northeastern Frontier Railway (Construction) for progressing the survey work for three lines in the North East region including the Misamari – Tawang line. This was intimated through a letter dated November 10,  by Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal.

Arunachal Pradesh : Five persons charred to death

Ziro (Arunachal Pradesh ) : Five people were   charred to death  here when a fire  broke  out  at Kudung Barang village  in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh early on Tuesday morning . 
The  impact of the fire  was  so large  that a 14-room barrack-style house  with people and properties   inside  were reduced to ashes .  Police are now trying to assertain the  cause of the fire. The bodies  are yet to be identified  as they are charred badly. 

President Ram Nath Kovind on four-day NE visit

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh): President Ram Nath Kovind  arrived here on Sunday in the first leg of his four-day maiden tour to the North East after assuming office.
The President, will also visit Assam and Manipur besides Arunachal Pradesh and attend several programmes and meetings, official sources said .
On Sunday he   attended  a function at Indira Gandhi Park here to mark 40 years of Vivekananda Kendra .

Arunachal Pradesh : Defence Minister, Sitharaman inaugurates Buddha Mahotsava

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) : Union  Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) at Raj Bhavan, here  this evening . They discussed a wide range of  issues, with special reference to state   bordering  China.
During the discussion the Governor said that the  proposed Frontier Road project must be expedited as it will boost the economy of the State, particularly in the border areas, in addition to strengthening of the surveillance of international border  .

Former Group Captain of Air Force opens the Largest Textile Industry in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh): The biggest textile  unit  of Arunachal Pradesh was  inaugurated by Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh  Pema Khandu  at Pasighat in East Siang district of  Arunachal Pradesh on Friday.
Khandu Inaugurated the Apparel and Garment Unit at Pasighat  being operated by ELAM Industries. This is the largest Textile Industry in Arunachal Pradesh employing over 100 people and producing wide variety of garments like Shirts, T- Shirts, Sports Jerseys, Uniforms, ladies apparels etc.

Another, IAF Mi -17 chopper crashes in Arunachal Pradesh killing all seven on board

Another  Mi -17 V5 helicopter of Indian Air Force crashed  on Friday morning along the India –China border in Tawang  killing all seven personnel on board . This is nothing new  and  such incidents have  become a common phenomenon  in the Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh..
