Sikkim : Nathu La trade crosses 3.50 crores

Gangtok (Sikkim):The border trade  this year through  Nathu La .along  Sino-Indian border in Sikkim , ended  with businessman  and traders of both sides clocking a turnover of Rs. 3.54 crores.
 
The Indian traders exported ghee, blankets , copper items, rice , textiles and processed goods to Tibet Autonomus Region (TAR) amounting to Rs.2, 83,91,230 while the import of mostly of blankets and jackets amounted to Rs. 70,96, 750.
 
The bi lateral trade at Nathu La was stopped for sometime in July  during the stand off  between the two countries over Doklam issue , but again after two weeks  the business resumed around two weeks ago.
 
The trading between the two neighbours will resume in May next year.
