Indian border guards seize sarees being smuggled into Bangladesh

Muktapur ( India  Bangladesh border):The craze for Indian sarees  in the Bangladesh has always  led to a thriving saree  smuggling racket  along the India-Bangladesh International border . But of late the Border guards deployed along the border  are  foiling the attempts by these organised group of  smugglers .
Recently , BSF    seized two huge consignments of clothes while being smuggled into Bangladesh from India. The  troops deployed at Muktapur along India Bangladesh  border   observed around 10 miscreants carrying  huge  packets on their  heads and  moving towards International border.  The smugglers  who were attempting to cross the packets to Bangladesh on seeing BSF troops gave a slip leaving behind the consignments .The troops recovered  around 800 sarees worth more than  Rs. 8 lacs. The sarees   were being smuggled from the unfenced area  along the border.
In another incident the BSF  troops of BSF seized 340 Nos sarees worth more than  Rs. 4 lacs.  in Pyrdiwah along India Bangladesh border in Meghalaya. The Indian sarees are popular in Bangladesh markets and the smugglers get handsome returns The Smugglers on both the sides of the border remain in constant touch with each other and keep tracking the movements of the BSF border guards  to get  a chance to smuggle consignments to Bangladesh.
