Tripura : Four kidnapped bank officials return home after a week

Agartala (Tripura) : In  dramatic  turn of events the four   ” Kidnapped “ Bank officials  on Friday  morning returned to their repective homes . The bank officials including Manager of Tripura  Gramin Bank , Taidu   were released  early this  morning.
The kidnapped officials  were  Tanmoy Bhattacharjee (Manager), Asst. Manager Raktim Bhowmik, Sujit Dey (Asst. Manager) and Subrata Debbarma (Group-D) .They were kidnapped on November 25 on way to their  respective homes after performing official duties.\

Agartala (Tripura): With the aim to assess the overall situation that facing working journalists in Tripura, the Chairman of Press Council of India (PCI)Justice C.K Prasad will reach Agartala on  December 5 next. A delegation of journalists from the state  will also  visit New Delhi  to meet few central ministers to demand CBI enquiry over killing of 2 journalists recently.

Fishy Deaths : 3 die , 7 critical after consuming deadly Puffer fish

Agartala (Tripura) :Three members of a family  died and 5 are  critically  ill  in  Mohanpur Sub-division here after consuming    puffer fish popularly known as ‘Fotka’ .Those who died have been  identified as Manik Biswas (42) – Husband, Soma Biswas – Wife and Suparna Biswas (65) – Mother. Rest of the affected family members are  in a critical  state  .

Tripura : 8 Rohingyas arrested near Agartala

Agartala (Tripura) :At least eight Rohingyas including four minors have been arrested on Wednesday in Agartala in Tripura.
The police arrested the Rohingyas from the outskirts of Agartala in Khayerpur.
The Rohingyas allegedly fled to India after violence in the Western Rakhine State of Myanmar.
Rohingya, described by the United Nations as the world's most persecuted people, have faced heightened fears of attack since dozens were killed in communal violence in 2012.

Tripura : EC asks state administration to ensure improvement in law & order

Agartala (Tripura):  A total  of  4.6 lakh names were  corrected in the electoral rolls and altogether 7073  duplicate  names were deleted from the roll along with the names of 21,000 dead persons, said Chief Election Commisoner AK Joti.

Tripura: Full bench of EC in Agartala to review poll preparedness

Agartala (Tripura}:After hearing political parties the full fledged Team of election commission of India(EC) headed by CEC  AK Joti is now meeting  top officials of the  adminstration.The full bench  which is  headed by the  CEC  reached  this afternoon .
The first political party to meet the EC was a delegation   from the BJP . They  demanded error free photo electoral roll to ensure free and fair polling .They said  that  the error free voter list should be prepared  using GPS .

Tripura : Red alert for Manik Sarkar

Agartala (Tripura): The process of realignment seems to have already started for the upcoming assembly electiosn with the regional INPT deciding to go with the BJP in the assembly polls. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of INPT’s central committee held in state capital .The decision on alliance with BJP was not taken directly but there was a reference to INPT going for alliance with non-left political force in the next assembly election.

Tripura : Full bench of Election Commission on a 2 day visit to the state

Agartala (Tripura) Chief Election Commissioner A.K.Joty is reaching  Agartala on Tuesday next.
During his 2- day stay Joty  will hold meetings  with the District Magistrates and SPs of 8 districts. He  will  also hold meetings with the top brass of State Administration to judge poll preparedness .

Journalist Murder : SIT arrests two more TSR personnel

Agartala(Tripura) :The  Special Investigation Team (SIT)  has arrested 2 more Tripura State Rifles( TSR) personnel identified as rifle man  Dharmendra Singh and Nayek Subedar  Amit Debbarma  of 2nd battalion TSR  and produced them before the court on Saturday  demanding 7 days police remand in connection to the senior journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik murder case.
Police source said that the SIT arrested  them based on interrogation of Nanda Gopal Reang who was arrested earlier prior to the arrest of TSR 2nd battalion commandant  Tapan Debbarma .
