Assam :JFA condemns scribe’s murder in Tripura

Guwahati(Assam): Expressing shock at the brutal murder of a young television scribe in Tripura, the Journalists’ Forum Assam (JFA) demands a high level probe into the incident and urges the Manik Sarkar led Left government at Agartala to book the culprits under the law. The forumalso reiterated its old demand for a special protection law for scribes on duty.

Tripura CPI-M wants Rohingyas’ shelter in India

Agartala (Tripura): Extending full support to the demand of ensuring shelter of Rohingyas in India, Tripura CPI-M state committee asked the central government to solve Rohingya influx issue on humanitarian ground instead of deporting them in their trouble torn home land in Myanmar.
The CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said that cruelty has been inflicted upon Rohingya Muslims in Burma has never been witnessed across the world ever before but being a neighbour India is also not taking firm stand on the atrocities.

Panel formed to probe molestation charge against Tripura Civil Service officer

Agartala (Tripura): The administrative reform authority of Tripura has constituted a five-member panel to conduct a  detail inquiry into the molestation charge against Subrata Chowdhury, a senior Tripura Civil Service Officer and former sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Kailashahar in North Tripura.

Tripura :Gowda reviews Indo-Bangladesh railway project

Agartala (Tripura): Union Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Devaragunda Venkappa Sadananda Gowda on Friday  visited the entire distance of 5 –km stretch from Agartala railway station to Nishchintapur village along Indo-Bangladesh border.
Gowda came here to review the centrally sponsored projects including much awaiting Agartala – Akhaura elevated railway corridor to connect Tripura with Bangladesh. He interacted with the villagers who have given their land for international railway connectivity.

Tripura : Six sacked TMC MLAs join BJP

Agartala (Tripura): Six Trinamool Congress legislators, who voted for BJP nominee Ram Nath Kovind, in the Presidential elections, today joined the saffron party in Tripura's capital Agartala along with their supporters.
"Six TMC MLAs joins BJP in Tripura with thousands of workers in the presence of Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Himanta Biswa Sarma and others," BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said in a tweet.

Agartala (Tripura) , Jan 3  :Alleging the Left Front government in Tripura is embroiled in a number of corruption cases, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today asked the people of the state to show it the door in the February 18 election.
At a rally in Barjala near here, he said that during the BJP's nine-year rule not a single minister was found involved in any scam.
