Nagaland : Rijiju says “holding of timely election is a constitutional process”

Dimapur(Nagaland) Jan 31: Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju, a day after, responding to all Nagaland parties’ decision not to contest the February 27 polls today said “holding of timely election is a constitutional process. Govt is bound by the constitution”.

Dimapur(Nagaland) Jan 29: All the political parties in Nagaland today resolved not to field candidates in the forthcoming assembly election in compliance with the call ‘Solution before Election’. Also called to defer the elections to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and allow the Naga political process to reach its logical conclusion by giving space and time to the negotiating groups to bring out an early solution.

Dimapur(Nagaland ), Jan 29:  CCNTHCO has today warned that if the Election Commission of India goes ahead with the issue of election notification on 31st January despite January 29 joint Declaration of political parties; they will have no option but to go to the streets to impose a one day total state-wide bandh on February 1.

Dimapur(Nagaland ), Jan 27: Chief Minister TR Zeliang today said that he still firmly stands by his call for a Solution and not Election.
 
 
 
“As the incumbent Chief Minister of Nagaland, I am more than willing to offer my services, in the talks between the GOI and the NNPGs, in whatever possible ways to bring about an honourable and amicable solution to the Naga Political Issue”, he said.
 
 
 

Nagaland : Dr. T. AO’s 100th Birth anniversary to be commemorated on Sunday

Dimapur(Nagaland ) Jan 27: The 100th birth anniversary of Dr. Talimeren Ao, popularly known as Dr. T. Ao, will be commemorated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on Sunday . Dr T Ao was the first Naga Olympian and the Captain of the Indian Football Team in the London Olympics in 1948.
