No nominations filed in Nagaland: CEO Abhijit Sinha

Dimapur(Nagaland), Feb 5: Even though 4-5 political parties, both national and regional, have declared that they will contest the forthcoming assembly elections in the state to form the 60-member 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly for which polls will be held on February 27, none has filed nomination papers till Monday evening leaving only two days for the closing of nominations.

Dimapur(Nagaland) Feb 5: P A Sangma founded National Peoples Party (NPP) today, just a few weeks ahead of the ensuing Assembly Polls in the state, got a boost with the merging of Nagaland Congress (NC), a regional political party of the state led by a former Congressman Nillo Rengma.
 
Presently led by Conrad Sangma, the son of the former Speaker of Parliament, NPP, a national-level political party has its presence in Meghalaya and Manipur.
 

Nagaland : Seven more legislators resigns from Assembly

Dimapur (Nagaland), Feb  5: Seven more legislators on Monday have resigned from Nagaland legislative assembly. They are Er.Levi Rengma (Tseminyu), S Chuba(Angetyongpang) , Amenba Yaden(Tuli), YM Yollow(Wakching), Toyang Changkong Chang(Tuensang Sadar-1) and Er. Picto Shohe(Atoizu) , all Independent legislators  and one NPF legislator G.Kaito (Satakha) .

Dimapur(Nagaland) ,Feb 3: In a  swift  political development the ruling NPF today received a major jolt when its long term alliance partner BJP decided to declare electoral ties with nascent Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and announced seat sharing arrangement for the February 27 assembly polls in Nagaland.
 

Nagaland :NPF to abide by principle of democracy

Dimapur(Nagaland), Feb3: Naga People’s Front  (NPF)  solemnly pledging "allegiance to the principle of socialism, secularism and democracy" has  decided to participate in the February 27 assembly election.
 
In a significant move the national party BJP decided to go ahead to field candidates in the forthcoming state elections after denouncing the January 29 joint declaration.
 

Nagaland : Rijiju assures to implement the solution as soon as it is reached

New Delhi , Feb 1 : The Minister of State for Home Affairs,  Kiren Rijiju has appealed to the people of Nagaland to participate in the democratic process of elections.
 
 
 
In his message to the people of Nagaland,  Rijiju said that “the Union Government is sensitive about the popular sentiment of Naga people and is committed to an early solution to their issue. He assured the people of Nagaland that the Government will implement the solution as soon as it is reached.”

Dimapur(Nagaland), Jan 31: The Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organisations (CCNTHCO) today said that Nagaland bandh on 1st Februay will go ahead as resolved in the meeting of all the apex tribal hohos and mass based organizations on January 29.
 

Nagaland Assembly election: State BJP caught in catch 22 situation

Dimapur(Nagaland) Jan 31: Election Commission as per its schedule today kickstarted the formal electioneering process for the February 27 Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections with the issue of the notification. The whole process has to be finished within March 5. The tenure of the present 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will get over on March 13.

Dimapur(Nagaland ), Jan 31:  Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha,  while briefing the media persons on the upcoming General Elections in the State at his office at Kohima informed that CAPF companies have started coming and about 280 companies are expected to arrive for election duty.
