In Close Nagaland Contest, Regional Rivals Vie For BJP's Hand

Kohima (Nagaland), Mar 03: The ruling Nagaland People's Front (NPF) is ready to form a new government in the state with the BJP if it comes forward for a post-poll alliance, Chief Minister T. R. Zeliang said on Saturday.
However, Zeliang virtually ruled out any alliance with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) that fought the state assembly election with the BJP.

Meghalaya, Nagaland to go to polls today

Shillong / Kohima , Feb 27 : The stage is set for today'S crucial Assembly elections in the two north-eastern states of Meghalaya and Nagaland. Polling will be held between 7 AM and 4 PM, except in some polling stations of the interior districts of Nagaland, where the process is scheduled to conclude at 3 pm.

Nagaland : Section 144 of CrPC promulgated in Mokokchung District

Dimapur(Nagaland), Feb26:  Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has promulgated prohibitory order under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.PC) in the entire area of Mokokchung District in view of the apprehension of possible breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquillity thereby vitiating the smooth conduct of  election in the district. 
The order came into force from 4 PM on Sunday and shall be in force till February 28.

Assembly Polls :Campaigning ends in Nagaland

Dimapur(Nagaland), Feb 26:  Campaigning by political parties came to an end in Nagaland today at 4 pm, 48 hours before the end of polling. 
For the 59 constituencies (as one constituency under 11-Northern Angami-II was elected uncontested) in Nagaland a total of 195 candidates will be contesting to find a place in the 13th Nagaland legislative assembly. 

Nagaland : Campaigning for Assembly Polls to end today

Dimapur(Nagaland ) , Feb 25 :Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha has informed that the campaigning period for election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly shall come to an end at 4 PM today. Polling will be held on February 27.
The CEO directed all the District Election Administration / Police Administration to ensure that all political functionaries shall leave the constituency immediately after the campaign period is over.

Nagaland :Janata Dal (U) serves ultimatum to Wokha Village Council

Dimapur(Nagaland ), Feb 17: Janata Dal (United) has served ultimatum to the Wokha Village Council against its resolution to support a particular candidate and bar any other from contesting the elections from their constituency.
JD(U) secretary general and spokesperson, K. C Tyagi, in a communique signed by Santosh Dubey, said that Wokha Village Council had adopted this resolution (resolution no. 17) on March 25, 2017.

Nagaland : Modi, Shah, Swaraj and Manoj Tiwari to address rallies

Dimapur(Nagaland), Feb 17: Prime minister Narendra Modi is among several top BJP leaders, including its president Amit Shah and others like union minister Sushma Swaraj, Manoj Tiwari who will address election rallies in different parts of the state in the coming days.
Modi is expected to address rally at Tuensang town whereas BJP Supremo Amit Shah is likely to address rallies in 3 to 4 different districts on February 23.
