Nagaland : Hornbill festival -- the festival of festivals ends

Dimapur (Nagaland ): The 18th edition of the 10 daylong  Hornbill festival culminated on Sunday evening at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama with the bonfire lit by the Chief Guest, Chief Host, Host, Miss Nagaland and Runners up which was followed by a unity dance.
 
Governor, P.B. Acharya was the Chief Guest and Chief Minister   T.R Zeliang was the Guest of Honour

Kohima  (Nagaland ) : Union Home Minister  Rajnath Singh, speaking on the occasion of Hornbill Festival 2017 as Chief Guest. extended his greetings to the people of Nagaland. He commended the role of the State Government in raising Nagaland’s 15 India Reserve (Mahila ) Battalion and setting up of Women’s Police Stations in Kohima and Dimapur for empowering women.
 
Nagaland  Governor   P.B.Acharya welcomed the Union Home Minister  on the 8th day of the Hornbill festival at Kisama village in Kohima here on Friday.

Dimapur (Nagaland): Nagaland governor, PB Acharya stated that Universities should not only be the centre for academics but should also work for the development of the society as well.
 
Acharya was addressing a meeting with Vice Chancellors of Gauhati University, Nagaland University and Principals of Colleges at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on Wednesday to discuss about the Universities’ role in reaching out to the people and introduction of skill based courses in all Colleges.

Dimapur(Nagaland) : Day six of the ongoing 10-daylong Hornbill Festival at naga Heritage Village, Kisama located on the National Highway towards Imphal, near Kohima witnessed colourful cultural events under the theme “Culturally Yours” graced by Lt General Anil Chauhan, GOC 3 Corps and Vice Chancellor, Guwahati University, Dr. Mridul Hazarika as the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively.
 

Nagaland : Hornbill International Rock Contest 2017 begins

Dimapur (Nagaland ) : The much awaited Hornbill International Rock Contest 2017 commenced on Tuesday evening at the Agri Expo site, Dimapur. The preliminary round began with seven of the competing bands out of the 23 that were selected from across the country, performed for the grand prize of rupees ten lakh, on the opening day.
