Govt extend ceasefire agreement with 2 Naga insurgent groups

New Delhi , April 21 : The Centre has extended the ceasefire agreement with two insurgent groups in Nagaland for one more year, starting April 28, a Home Ministry official said.
The parties to the ceasefire agreement are -- the Centre, the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Neokpao-Khitovi), and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Reformation).

Nagaland: No more ‘Chief Guest’ status for minsters & officials

Dimapur ( Nagaland ) , April  19 :In a significant development, aimed at further doing away with the VIP culture in Nagaland, the PDA cabinet has barred ministers and government officials from attending public functions as chief guests and also asking them to refrain from giving donations and making announcement of monetary grants while attending such functions.
This was decided at a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday while discussing the issue of doing away with the pervasive VIP culture. 

Nagaland govt launches mobile app for farmers

Kohima ,April 18 :Nagaland government  launched an interactive mobile app through which farmers can seek solutions to their problems and know about diseases of plants.
Agriculture Minister G. Kaito Aye launched the ’NagaFarmDoctor’, an app for android phones.
The state Department of Agriculture, has developed the app with two features - an interactive part where farmers can submit their queries, and the other part where they can view information about diseases of plants, an official of the department said.

Nagaland :Kohima Water supply project ready for commissioning within 45 days

Kohima(Nagaland), April 18: Augmentation of water supply to Kohima Town (Zarü project) under Urban Ministry will be commissioned within 45 days as part of the 100 days action plan of the PDA Government, disclosed Minister for Public Health Engineering Department, Jacob Zhimomi .
Zhimomi made the announcement only after inspecting the project site of Augmentation of water supply to Kohima Town at Mima Village .

Governor forwards death penalty petition for child rape to CMO

Dimapur(Nagaland ) April 17: Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya has supported death penalty for those convicted of child rape.
The Governor  received a petition from chairperson cum national president of Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India, Uma Gurkha requesting to amend the law of Nagaland to award death penalty as punishment for child rape.

Now,Nagaland's capital to get free WiFi hotspots

Kohima (Nagaland ) , April 16 :Nagaland Government  has  announced that the state government has decided to provide free wifi hotspots in the state capital.
Advisor for IT, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon, made this announcement while gracing the Nagaland Innovation Expo (NIE) as chief guest at Kohima Science College (KSC).
Kikon also said that the state government would also provide free wifi in all DC offices in 11 districts, three campuses of Nagaland University and one free wifi hot spot at KSC.

Nagaland: 2 killed, 3 injured in road mishap

Kohima (Nagaland) : April 13: Two persons were killed in a fatal road accident on Thursday near the IG stadium, Kohima when their vehicle, a Mahindra Bolero fell off the road.
The police stated that the Bolero with five occupants fell down a ravine crash-landing some 80 feet below the road. They were travelling from Tseminyu to Kohima when the accident occurred at 2.30 pm.
