Meghalaya : 40 Sikh families displaced

Shillong (Meghalaya) : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today took up issue of displacement of 40 sikh families by the Cantonment Board at  Shillong in Meghalaya with Governor of  Meghalaya Banwarilal Purohit. 
A sikh delegation led by Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa General Secretary DSGMC met the Governor  and brought to his notice that quarters of these sikh families as well some Hindu and Christian families were demolished by the Cantonment authorities although they have been residing  here  for the past two centuries.

Meghalaya CM mobilizes tea growers for organic certification

Tura (Meghalaya): Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul M. Sangma informed a single-window clearance has been given recently through the department of Commerce & Industries for expansion of tea factories in the State in order to address the problems of the tea growers due to surplus in supply of fresh tea leaves.

Meghalaya CM continues mobilizing masses on Horticulture Mission

Resubelpara (Meghalaya): In yet another Social Mobilization programme on Horticulture Mission at Resubelpara on Saturday, Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma distributed saplings and exhorted the people, particularly the farmers to take up mission-mode plantation of high value crops not only for income generation but also for protection of their environment and to create livelihood opportunities for their future generations.

Illegal Stone Quarrying : Section 144 CrPC imposed in Pynursla sub division of Meghalaya

Shillong(Meghalaya): The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, East Khasi Hills District, has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC in the Sub-Division in order to prevent danger to human life, health and safety and to safeguard the environment restraining any person, company or authority from illegal stone quarrying and sand mining in the hill slope and removal of sand from river-bed without obtaining permission/license from the competent authority.

Meghalaya CM administers Sadbhavana pledge at Ampati

Ampati(Meghalaya): Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma on Friday led the gathering at Ampati in taking the pledge to promote emotional oneness and harmony among all citizens on the occasion of Sadbhavana Divas, 2017 which marks the 73th birth anniversary of Late Rajiv Gandhi the former Prime Minister of India.
 Sadbhavana Divas is observed every year on 20th August to promote national integrity, love, affection and communal harmony among the citizens of India, but since it falls on Sunday this year the day is being observed on August 18 across the country.

Green Padel Shillong Challenge 2017

Shillong (Meghalaya):The 2nd edition of the GPSC was a hugely successful event, where even God almighty paved way and ensured that not even nature should stop it from being a smooth event. The event was flagged off by the DC,  P Dkhar at 6am sharp from fire brigade in Shillong. 
 Riders from across the country and region registered and competed for the MTB ENDURANCE CHALLENGE.
