Meghalaya’s Most-Wanted Militant Gunned Down by Security Forces

Tura (Meghalaya), Feb 24: The commander-in-chief of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), Sohan D Shira, was reportedly killed by the security forces today in an encounter at East Garo Hills district  of Meghalaya.
 
Heading the GNLA, a proscribed militant outfit active in the Meghalaya's South and East Garo Hills district, Shira had been dubbed as the most-wanted terrorist in the poll-bound state.

Songsak(Meghalaya) , Feb 20 : Home Minister Rajnath Singh today termed alleged lack of development in Meghalaya as a “cruel joke” and said that if BJP is voted to power, the state will usher in an era of development.
 
He coined Meghalaya as a “home of clouds where development should be put in place like a rainfall”.
