Amputation not always needed for bone cancer says NEIGRIHMS doctors

Shillong (Meghalaya);Cancers affecting the bone is quite rare(<1% of all cancers) and need specialized training and resources for proper diagnosis and treatment. Traditionally amputation of the limb was the only option for achieving complete removal of the tumor, but many patients find this unacceptable.
 Medical advancements have offered respite to patients with bone cancer, ensuring that the limbs are not amputated. Such specialized procedures are called “Limb Salvage Surgeries” and are performed in selected centres in India.

Shillong(Meghalaya) : Umar Majeed took 6 wickets for 32 runs as Jammu & Kashmir won their U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match by an innings and 64 runs against a combined Associates & Affiliates team on the fourth and final day in Shillong on Wednesday. 
Resuming their innings on 27/0 and 220 runs behind, the A&A openers added another 20 runs before Harshraj became Majeed's first victim. 

Two Art of Living members arrested while crossing Bangladesh border to meet top militants

Dawki (Indo -Bangla border ): Acting on a specific  intelligence input two volunteers of spritual organisation ,Art of Living   , identified as. Khroo Lamsalanki Pariat  and  Samir Jolly  were intercepted at Dawki P.C.P on  Monday while they were on their way to Sylhet in Bangladesh.
Both of them were on their way  to Sylhet in  Bangladesh for a meeting with top members of the banned outfit, the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC). The meeting was scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

Shillong : The State Election committee of the National People's Party (NPP) Meghalaya has released it's  second list of Candidates for the upcoming Assembly Election in Meghalaya. There are only 3 candidates whose names were cleared by the committee here  on Saturday.

Meghalaya :Workshop on Agriculture awareness held

Shillong (Meghalaya) :A one day workshop was organised on the theme of Central government schemes on Agriculture here on Saturday . The workshop was organised by Directorate of field publicity, DFP, MMT region for its field officers. 
The workshop marks the commencement of special awareness programmes on the theme of Central schemes on Agriculture, research and training. Head of Division, ICAR, Dr RG Laha was the Chief Guest at the workshop. He said that such a workshop is an unprecedented one and the need of the hour.

Meghalaya: Congress leaders to quit party before Assembly polls

Shillong (Meghalaya) :Unhappy with the functioning of Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, at least two senior leaders of the ruling Congress in Meghalaya  openly said they would quit the party before the Assembly election due next year.
Senior leaders such as former deputy chief minister Rowell Lyngdoh and former cabinet minister Prestone Tynsong decided to leave Congress.
“I have the intention of joining the NPP as the Congress’ ticket on which I was elected had betrayed me and the people,” Rowell Lyngdoh told news agency PTI.
