New Delhi:: Newly crowned Asian Boxing champion Mary Kom feels that India will begin a new chapter with the upcoming 2017 AIBA Youth Women's World Championship in Guwahati by winning multiple medals.
She is delighted with the way the young guns have been preparing and declared that they have the quality and the talent to make a killing on the world stage.

Battle of Imphal: Skeletal remains of WWII Japanese soldiers handed over to Japan

Imphal (Manipur)  :  Skeletal remains of Japanese soldiers who died during WW II in Manipur were on Wednesday handed over to a Japanense delegation  at a function held at Imphal War Museum, Sagolband Tera Amudon, here.
The remains were handed over to the Japanese delegation led by  Tokunaga San of Japan from Association of Recovery and Repatriation of War Casualty and  Kenji Aya, First Secretary, Japanese Embassy to India by the 2nd World War Imphal Campaign Foundation.

New Delhi: Five-time World Champion MC Mary Kom made a golden comeback to the hallowed ring, winning her fifth gold medal in the Asian Boxing Championship in Vietnam on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old comprehensively beat Hyang Mi Kim of Korea in the 48-kg category to show that she is still a force to reckon with.

New Delhi: MC Mary Kom beat South Korea's Hyang Mi Kim to win her fifth Gold at the Asian Kim. This was Mary Kom’s fifth final in only six appearances, which means she remains unbeaten in the summit clash of the continental championship.
Mary Kom had previously won all her medals in the 51 kg category while she competed in 48 kg category. This makes it her maiden win in this weight class.

New Delhi: Five-time World Champion MC Mary Kom cruised into the 48-kg finals of the Asian Boxing Championships here on Tuesday; she beat Japan’s Tsubasa Komura 5-0 to stay on course for her fifth gold medal in the continental event.
The Manipuri pugilists, who is making her comeback to the squared ring after more than a year, used her tactical nous to the optimum. She was on top right from the word go and quickly figured out how to penetrate the Japanese girl’s defence.

Maoist strike against PDS failure cripples life in Manipur

Imphal (Manipur) : A 12 hour general strike called by  Maoist Communist Party, Manipur affected normal life here on Sunday. The strike was imposed from 5 am to 5 pm against the alleged failure of the Public distribution system in the state.The Maoist Party alleged that the essential items meant for the people were misused by the rich. Due to the strike streets were deserted. Shops were closed down. Police tried to open some shops however normal business activities remained suspended.
