Assam : Wild elephant kills one In Kaziranga

Tezpur, (Assam)  : A Wild elephant killed one person last night in  Kaziranga National Park  in Northern Range in  Nij Baghmari  under Ginjia  police station of Biswanath district , official sources said .
 
Sources said that  the wild elephant  used to regularly come out from the National Park and create havoc  at  various places  in the northern   River bank of Brahmaputra.
 

Fun & Festivity : Dwijing festival begins in Assam's Chirang

Kokrajhar (Assam ):  The Dwijing festival along the Aie river in Chirang district here  started  at Rowmari  on Wednesday with a  12-day programme  which will  showcase  attractive sporting events and  various ethnic foods from  the state and the neighbouring country , Bhutan .
 
The festival has is being  organized by Chirang district administration and Organizing Committee to explore tourism prospects in the region,which would  continue  January 7 next with a 12-day  colourful programme .

Kokrajhar(Assam) : Along with rest of North East India  Christmas   was celebrated at different churches in Kokrajhar with festivity  today including  the  famous Donbosco Church and Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church.
 
Special masses   were  held    where thousands of devotees and followers  participated in  the  praise  and worship service  on the   holy day.
At Donbosco  Church here ,Assam forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma joined  in the prayer session along with thousands  of  devotees.
 

Second Life : 70 -year -old Lady survives jumbo attack in Assam

Samaguri  (Assam ) : Was  it  a miracle or sheer grace of God.  An elderly lady     miraculously  survived an  attack  from a  herd  of  10 wild elephants  when they   completely  crushed her Asam type house  and trampled her bed  at  Samaguri in Nagaon district on  Saturday night  ,
  
70 -year old  Muhila Kalita  and her son were fast  asleep when a herd  of around ten wild tuskers   completely ravaged their house. Not only that , her bed  was trampled  and all belonging were completely destroyed while she was  still fast  asleep .

Assam : OPD clinic in Guwahati Press Club

Guwahati(Assam) :The city based Dispur Hospital conducted the weekly OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club, where Dr Udayan Saikia offered free consultations to over 30 participants. Organized under the series of ‘Evening with a Doctor’ programs for the benefit of press club members along with their dependants, the Saturday health camp facilitated the participants to get advices following their blood reports of  thyroid, haemoglobin, blood sugar, uric acid and creatinine levels.
 

Assam : Stray rhinos from Manas National Park creates havoc in ten villages

Kokrajhar (Assam):  In the most recent case of wildlife straying from the Manas National Park to nearby areas, a pair of  rhinos were  found straying in Naoputa area  of Baksa  district in Assam creating  fear psychosis  and havoc  among the villagers  early on Saturday morning
Three days earlier , two  wild elephants were found dead  in Udalguri district of lower Assam.
