Guwahati (Assam): This  project aims at ‘decolonizing’ the cultural memory of the museum and open up the space for the popular, pleasant and indigenous knowledge

Benjamin writes, “In the act of collecting it is decisive that the object be dissociated from all of its original functions in order to enter into the closest possible relationship with its equivalents.” The basic question that project asks is – What role can art play in reimagining, and reorganizing the imperialist colonialist conception of culture and cultural memory?

 

Tezpur(Assam): Incessant rains across Assam over the last few days have left most of the low lying areas inundated. People in Char Duar and Balipara villages of Assam's Sonitpur district have been affected with water level of the rivers rising alarmingly due to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of Assam and neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh. The water level of the rivers were rising dangerously following the heavy rainfall with large tracts of land being flooded and several houses damaged. 

 

 

Guwahati(Assam): A two day loan mela was organised by the Mahindra Finance in Guwahati where visitors thronged the venue for availing the loan facility.As many as 20 different car manufacturer participated in the event.

 

The loan mela was inaugurated by the joint commissoner of police Diganta Bora on Saturday.

 

The highlight of the loan mela was that prospective buyers were given a test ride.

One of them is introducing number of prominent faces in the cinema world. Out of the many new faces in AEI MAATITE, three will be for looked out for. The film is releasing on 6th October 2017 across Assam and other parts of North East.
