YMCA convocation held in Shillong

Shillong (Meghalaya): The  Vice Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), R.G. Lyngdoh  conferred upon the convocation certificates to 80 students passing out various Computer courses like PGDCA, DCA, DTP, Tally by the Shillong Young Men Christian Association(YMCA) held at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Auditorium in the city .
Speaking on the First Convocation of Computer Education of YMCA, Shillong,  Lyngdoh stressed on the need to impart vocational education besides the mainstream courses which most students undertake. He lauded the YMCA for such initiative but yet stressed on the need to include carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, embroidery, stitching, sewing etc which will be an added advantage to the youth besides obtaining their higher secondary and undergraduate degrees. He also said that it is imperative that one considers work as a service and to take life with joy and laughter and to be a helping hand to others who are in need. 
The  president of YMCA  G. Mylliemngap welcomed the dignitaries and outline the activities of the YMCA in Shillong. The Shillong YMCA will also host the Regional Meet of YMCA's in North East India scheduled from July 27-29, 2017.
