Dimapur :,April 6: Good news for the commuters of Dimapur-Wokha route, the repairing work of the Wokha- Bokajan road has once again commenced after the visit of the district administration and PWD officials in the stretch recently.
The execution of repair works started on April 2 includes the RD Road at Meriyan village, 2 culverts at Totsu village, Mikhi Bridge and Waterfall at 64 km Wokha-Bokajan road.
Wokha district administration along with departments of PWD (R&B) and DRDA went on a surprise visit to the Wokha-Bokajan road on March 24 last and decided to initiate urgent improvement of the road.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, along with line department officials also conducted a meeting during the surprise visit.
The meeting with various stakeholder villagers at Nruk Bridge point decided that improvement of the bad road condition would be initiated by repairing collapsed culverts and strengthening weak bridges, as the road, apart from connecting Wokha with Dimapur through the shortest distance, was also a lifeline for villages under Wozhuro and Ralan Block of the district.
