Nagaland CM Rio reaches Delhi to meet central leaders

Dimapur(Nagaland) Mar 16: Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by deputy chief minister, Yanthungo Patton, cabinet ministers and state BJP and NDPP leaders are in the national capital meeting central leaders and ministers.
 
Rio today met President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. A Rashtrapati Bhavan tweet this evening said, “Shri Neiphiu Rio, chief minister of Nagaland, along with his Council of Minisers and other political functionaries, called on #PresidentKovind at Rahtrapati Bhavan.
 
“I met the Hon’ble PM Shri Modi and had a positive interaction along with my colleagues. We are thankfull for his support and guidance and look forward to working together in our common goal of nation building” Rio stated in his tweet this morning.
 
‘I look forward to a positive engagement with all sections of the people in our common endeavour to bring development and peace in Nagaland,’ the Chief Minister tweeted in the morning.
 
The delegation on Thursday met Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu. VP’s Secretariat in its tweet stated, “The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Shri. Neiphiu Rio and the council of ministers calling on me, in New Delhi today. #CMNagaland.”
 
Rio and his team members also met union finance minister, Arun Jaitley, at his office besides union minister of state for housing & urban affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, and union minister of state for home affairs, Kiren Rijiju, at his Delhi residence. “The newly appointed Chief Minister of Nagaland, Shri Neiphiu Rio called on the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Arun Jaitley in his office in New Delhi today,” Ministry of Finance’s tweet stated.
 
Rijiju in his tweet said, “Extended hearty welcome to new Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio ji, Dy CM Y. Patton ji & the team at my residence at New Delhi. My best wishes to the new Govt headed by very senior leader Rio ji.”
 
“Honoured to meet Nagaland CM Mr. Neiphiu Rio in my office. Congratulated him on his recent electoral victory & discussed implementation status of various @mohua_india schemes in the state,” Hardeep Singh Puri stated in his tweet.
 
JD (U) minister G. Kaito Aye, NDPP president Chingwang Konyak and state BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu, NDPP working president Alemtemshi Jamir, Secretary General Abu Metha is also accompanying Rio.
