Former Group Captain of Air Force opens the Largest Textile Industry in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh): The biggest textile  unit  of Arunachal Pradesh was  inaugurated by Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh  Pema Khandu  at Pasighat in East Siang district of  Arunachal Pradesh on Friday.
Khandu Inaugurated the Apparel and Garment Unit at Pasighat  being operated by ELAM Industries. This is the largest Textile Industry in Arunachal Pradesh employing over 100 people and producing wide variety of garments like Shirts, T- Shirts, Sports Jerseys, Uniforms, ladies apparels etc.
The Chief Minister also visited the Power Loom and Handloom Unit of ELAM Industries, which is the First Mechanized Textile Factory of the state. The Proprietor of ELAM Industries is Group Captain M Panging VM (Retd).
Group Captain (Retd),Mohonto Panging   told South Asia Views   from Pasighat that , “today I am very happy  With the inauguration of ELAM Industries, Arunachal and Pasighat have officially joined the Industries map of India. He said that   the Apparel and Garment Unit can manufacture Shirts, T- Shirts, Ladies Apparels, Sportswear, Uniforms at cheaper rates.
 ELAM Industries is also operating the First Mechanized Textile  Factory (Power Loom/Handloom) of the state.  He also said that the Industry now produce 1000 Shirts or 2000 T - Shirts per day .
“There are hardly any Industries in North East India and Arunachal Pradesh. We are importing majority of products from mainland India. Setting up of manufacturing industries in North East India will reduce this dependence on other states in addition to providing employment to large number of local people and contribute to development of the region. 
The central and state governments  of the region needs to support these local Industries with preferential buying and pricing policies in addition to incentives like freight subsidy and capital subsidy etc. The NEIIPP which supported Industries in North East India, which was suspended  needs to be revived by the central govt, Panging said .
Elam Industries (Power Loom/Handloom) is producing wide variety of ethnic and other garments like Wrap Around, Curtains, Towels, Gamochsas, Shirting, Cushion Covers, Tribal Bags, Eri Silk products, Stoles, Shawls etc. 
Group Captain  Panging was a fighter pilot and the first person from North East India to Command a Sukhoi 30 Squadron. With over 3500 hrs of flying experience he was also posted as Chief Operations Officer of Air Force Station Tezpur.
