Army Chief visits international border

Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, GOC-in-C Eastern Command and Lt Gen A S Bedi,  GOC Gajraj Corps received Army Chief General Bipin Rawat at Tezpur Air Force Station on Tuesday.

The Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat visited to the Eastern Command after taking over as the Army Chief. The Chief's visit to the eastern command area is considered to be significant after the recent attack in the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. Three army personnel were killed in the ambush on Sunday.

The army Chief also visited Tawang and the forward areas in Western Arunachal Pradesh International border.

A Border Personnel meet will be held on the Independence Day at Bumla hat, the Indo-China border to be attended by officials from the both the sides.
