      From Our Kokrajhar Web Desk

Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Aug 6 : The United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) has claimed that large chunk of the people in the Bodoland Territorial Council region are going to vote in favour of the UPPL to pave way for ‘parivartan and development’ an the party is going to win in over 30 constituencies of the 40 member BTC assembly house and is connfident of forming the next BTC council.

The UPPL observed its 5th Foundation Day on Wednesday at its central office in Kokrajhar along with different districts and block committees in the BTC region. The party was founded on Aug 5, 2015 at Dotma for the welfare of common masses in the region.

Vice president of the party and BTC MCLA Rwngwra Narzary hoisted party flag followed by homage to martyrs by party vice president Moinul Haque .

Narzary said that the party is contesting in 40 seats in the upcoming BTC elections and his party is confident of winning over 30 seat and forming next BTC council without any hesitation.

He said that citizens from all walks of life are coming forward to extend support to the UPPL ‘parivartan ‘and development in the council region.

Taking a dig at BPF , he said the party has failed to bring development and welfare amongst the society in their 17 years of rule.He said that UPPL was working hard for paving the way healthy development and parivartan, and accordingly this time UPPL is winning in majority of the seats in the council elections.

He said that BPF would only get a single digit in the council elections as the common masses were deprived from development and welfare.

Narzary denied reports of allegation raised on BJP-UPPL alliance pact that was signed recently in New Delhi and alleged to be the handiwork of GSP president and Lok Sabha MP Naba Kumar Sarania and BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary for creating confusion among the common masses ahead the council elections.

He said that there is no alliance with BJP for the council elections till date UPPL is contesting in all 40 seats on its own and BJP in 26 constituencies for the the council elections.

Ex Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL senior leader UG Brahma said that people from all walks of life are coming forward to extend support to the UPPL and accordingly UPPL is winning majority of the seats with mass support.

The council elections has been postponed for indefinite period in the wake of COVID-19 Pandemic in the state which was scheduled to be held earlier on 4th April last.

      UPPL is contesting in 40 seats,BPF in 37,BJP in 26,GSP in 40, Congress-AIUDF in 20 seats .
