Imphal(Manipur), May15 :Manipur on Saturday reported a new grim record of 730 new COVID-19 positive cases from the general population, according to the Health Department.
The caseload has now reached 39,052 (General Population 35,362 and Central Security Personnel -3,690).The number of active cases is 6215 (General Population – 6043 and Central Security Personnel -172) in the state.
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (208), Imphal West (268),Thoubal (53)Bishnupur (38),Kakching (58), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (28), Chandel (5), Senapati (2),Tamenglong (39),Kangpokpi (15) and Jiribam (8). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 10 persons succumbed to their infections . They are aged 67 yrs (male, Kakching), 61 yrs (male, Imphal West), 49 yrs (male, Churachandpur), 61 yrs (male, Imphal West), 81 yrs (female, Imphal East), 80 yrs (male, Imphal East), 75 yrs (male, Imphal West), 52 yrs (female, Imphal West), 75 yrs (male, Imphal West), and 67 yrs (male, Imphal West) expired at Shija Hospital (1), DH Churachandpur (2), JNIMS (3) and RIMS (4) hospital respectively. The death toll has now reached 562.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 32,275 (General Population – 28,762 and Central Security Personnel – 3,513). The recovery rate is 82.64 %.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1393 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 474 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur, as per a release from the health department.
As per the latest information, 302287 individuals have been vaccinated in the state.
