Shillong(Meghalaya), Oct 16: In order to provide huge momentum towards publicity and marketing of the products, services of MSME units of the North Eastern Region, Meghalaya Governor ,Tathagata Roy today inaugurated the 11th edition of the East Himalayan Trade Fair (EHTF) 2019 at Polo Grounds, here.
The Governor said that this kind of trade fair is crucial for the growth of north east region, adding that this is in line with the Act East Policy of Government of India which recognizes the importance of the North East of India as the gateway to the East.
It may be mentioned that the 11th East Himalayan Trade Fair on the theme “MSME-An Engine for NER Growth” is being organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), in collaboration with Commerce and Industries Department, Meghalaya.
The Fair is supported by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Ministry of Justice, Ministry of AYUSH, Assam.
Altogether 77 MSME units from the entire northeastern region will display their wide range of products comprising of horticulture, household goods, food items including processed food, textiles, handicraft, products of rural artisans, SHGs, SME’s product and services, etc.
The Fair which will continue till Oct 22 and will be open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm daily.
