Assam: BTC Chief Mohilary urges militants to shun violence

Kokrajhar(Assam), Aug 15: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary today urged militants of the state to shun violence and come forward to the mainstream for overall development of the society .

Mohilary while hoisting the national tri-colour at Kokrajhar Govt HS and MP school parade grounds here urged the militant outfits of the Assam including ULFA,NDFB-S to come to the mainstream to create a peaceful environment in the region.

He said that the militant outfits must come forward and join the mainstream and sort out their demands and grivances through political dialogue.

Mohilary also hailed the scrapping of Article 37O and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir,saying that the NDA government has initiated to bring equal rights and welfare for the people of Jammu and Kashmir like any other part of the country .

Hagrama said a film studio is being set up in Kokrajhar and the administration here is taking all steps to check river erosion.

He also informed the gathering that a sports College in being set up in the BTAD to facilitate sporting activities in the region.
