Dead or alive : 37 dead persons voted in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly polls

Itanagar (Aruncahal Pradesh ), April 22 : Is it possible for dead people to come out of their graves and vote ? .No. But if the Congress party in the state is to be believed the BJP gave a new life 37 dead people to come to the Pating and Checki polling station during the recently concluded polls on April 11.

Elections to the 57 of the 60 Assembly seats in the State were held as three candidates won uncontested. The state also saw the polling for two Lok Sabha seats .

Congress candidate Tai Nikio for the Nyapin Assembly seat in Kurung Kumey district of the state alleged that the EVMs in the Nyobia circle of the district were tampered as six booths did not have CCTV cameras.

Tai Nikio said that he has lodged complaints at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer on the dead voters and filed an FIR on violation of election procedures demanding re – polling .

He also alleged that the party’s polling agents were barred from entering some polling stations while a few were kidnapped and tortured.

The State’s election officials said the complaints were being looked into.

Earlier , State Minister Bamang Felix and a BJP candidate had accused Congress supporters of attacking his convoy on April 1.

Meanwhile ,The State’s election officials are investigating into the complaints.
