Arunachal Pradesh : Montaineer Anshu to be conferred Tenzing Norgay National Award

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) , Sept 22: Mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa who is the first and the only woman in the world to climb Mount Everest five times and also achieving two double ascents to Mount Everest will be conferred India’s highest adventure award, ‘Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award’, instituted by the Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

Anshu Jamsenpa who hails from Arunachal Pradesh will be presented the award by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan on September 25 next.

In the year 2017, Jamsenpa scripted history by scaling Mount Everest twice in five days.

She also holds the unique record of scaling three Himalayan Peaks (Lobuche 20,075 ft., Pokhalde 19,343 ft. and Island Peak 20,305 ft.) in just 6 days which is unparalleled in the mountaineering history.
