Tripura : SC grants relief to 10,323 teachers

Agartala(Tripura ):  The Supreme Court’s division bench granted relief to the 10,323 school teachers for another 6 months. The sacked teachers would be able to continue in their service up to June 30, 2018.
 
The division bench comprising with Justice Udai Lalit and Adarsh Goel granted the petition that was submitted by the Tripura government seeking extension of service of 10,323 teachers. Accordingly  the division bench extended teachers service up to 30 th June 2018.
 
According to law secretary Data Mohan Jamatiya the  bench granted token relief to the teachers. The state government had made a plea for one year’s extension in view of critical shortage of teachers and the distinct possibility of the school education system collapsing in the state in the new academic session due en masse dismissal of 10,323 teachers but the apex court bench granted six months extension.

Reacting on the  verdict the Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty  said that the goverrment  will take necessary steps  to continue normal education in the schools.He admitted that it would be quite  a difficult  task .
 
Though, the education department has made arrangements to continue education in the  schools. Teachers will be transferred  from nearby schools to the effected schools. The transfer lists  are in the process and will  come in force from early next
