Meghalaya : CM, Mukul Sangma to contest from two constituencies

Shillong (Meghalaya ): Finally all  speculations about  Chief Minister Mukul Sangma contesting from two seats is over . It has now come from the horses mouth .
 
Dr. Mukul  has  made it official that he would   contest the upcoming Assembly polls from both Songsak and Ampati constituencies.
 
Dr. Sangma said, “Yes I have decided to  contest from both the seats.”
 
He said he was not interested in knowing which candidates would be pitted againt him by the rival parties as it was not relevant to him.
 
He told  journalists  that  candidates contest from two constituencies since the law provides that space and  added that earlier people used to contest from three seats, also.
 
‘As long as it is legal  we will contest and if law does not provide we will look into the matter’,he said.  
 
At present Songsak constituency is represented by National People’s Party MLA Nihim D. Shira and Dr. Mukul Sangma is the  legislator from Ampati .
