Dimapur(Nagaland ): Chief Minister, TR Zeliang on friday informed that the ongoing construction works of the four lane road between Kohima and Dimapur were allotted to two companies with an agreement to finish the work in 3 years time; in addition they will also maintain the existing road.
He said that after the completion of the project the companies will also maintain the road for next four years failing which, the companies will be blacklisted. On the deplorable condition of roads in Dimapur, he maintained that all necessary arrangements are being made and the construction works will start very soon.
Zeliang was speaking to the gathering at the inauguration of the first Nagaland International Trade Expo organized by Business Association of Nagaland (BAN) with the support of the the state government at Agri Expo, Dimapur on friday. The expo will continue upto November 30.
Complementing BAN for organizing the expo, Zeliang said such programme gives opportunity to the entrepreneurs and manufacturers to showcase their products to prospective customers besides giving opportunity for investors to look for potential business and technology to invest in. He further observed that the expo would be an opportunity for Naga youth to learn and see many things.
Stating that Nagaland has no shortage of natural resources besides the state being recognized as a biodiversity hotspot with variety of medicinal plants and herbs, he said there is tremendous scope for the people. He added that the Government can at best be the facilitator in form of policy making and direction, and also identify the bottleneck and hurdles faced in the business.
