Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh ):A huge crowd spilled to the streets in the frontier capital city of Itanagar in the Indian sub continent pledging not to go with China a week after the south Asian power reiterated it’s unilateral claimed over a huge chunk of Arunachal Pradesh.
The protesters who thronged in thousands at the initiatives of the state’s influential student organization All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union hit the streets for nearly three hours opposing the Chinese claim.
Flashing banners and play cards, a section of the protesters shouted vande mataram, Bharat Mata ki jai, Chinese haye haye pulling more and more people in the nook and corner if the city. Some others burnt the effigy of Chinese President Xi Jinping opposing the claim over the frontier state.
Addressing the massive gathering AAPSU President Hawa Bagnag said the state where they were born and brought up was never a part of China and it will be in future.
An emotional Bagnag said,”‘we the Arunachalee are ready for any consequence. But we will never leave even an inch of our land to China. Our facial structure might have marked resemblance with the Chinese. But many other people have same feature in Korea,Japan ,Indonesia who are basically mongoloid. Are they Chinese?”
“Chinese neither we read or speak in Arunachal Pradesh. We are pucca Indian and Hindi is our favourite language which speak and write,” he said.
He strongly criticised the ruling clique alleging lack of initiatives to deal with the confronting problems. “There are hundreds of problems related to refugees, stapled visa and international boundary but state government has never heed on the issues seriously,” said the student leader.
Many protestors took on the Centre alleging that the NDA government has been failing to deal with the issue with China which has been unhappy with New Delhi for housing the Dalai Lama.
